Let’s be real: most of what people blame on the devil is simply the result of personal agreement with lies. We say, “The enemy is attacking my mind,” but truthfully, you’re recycling negative thoughts like a playlist on repeat. James 4:7 makes it clear—“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” Meaning? If you don’t submit your mind, no resistance will work.
Spiritual warfare isn’t always about casting out demons—it’s often about casting down imaginations (2 Corinthians 10:5). The real battleground is in your belief system. The devil doesn’t need to possess you; he just needs you to agree with thoughts of fear, unworthiness, guilt, and limitation. Once you agree, your life starts reflecting those agreements—through choices, reactions, and patterns.
Many people pray to break strongholds but refuse to break inner narratives. You say you want freedom, yet every day you meditate on defeat. You fast, but you still confess failure. You shout in church, but speak fear in traffic. That’s not warfare—that’s spiritual confusion. And confusion is the absence of identity. If you knew who you were, you wouldn’t argue with lies—you’d evict them. You wouldn’t negotiate with shame—you’d silence it with truth.
