Let’s tear down a lie that’s kept too many stuck: you don’t need closure from them—you need clarity within you. Closure is often a disguised demand for validation. It’s you saying, “Help me understand why you hurt me,” or “Explain why you changed.” But the truth is, you don’t need their permission to move forward. Isaiah 43:18 says, “Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.” Why? Because destiny is forward—not backward.
When you obsess over closure, you delay healing. You’re waiting on someone who’s long gone to give you peace they never had. That’s not healing—that’s emotional bondage. And let’s be honest: even if they gave you every answer you wanted, it wouldn’t change the fact that you were wounded. Closure is not about what they say—it’s about what you decide. Decide you are done. Decide you are worthy. Decide that you’re allowed to walk away without guilt or explanation.
